I had a genius idea a while ago.
What if the federal government hired people based on merit, not foolish, bigoted characteristics like race or sexual orientation?
Actually, it wasn’t my original idea. It’s really just common sense.
That’s why I just introduced The Making Excellence Replace Identity Traits (MERIT) Act of 2021:
Simply put, hiring anyone on the basis of skin color or sexual preference, rather than merit, is bigotry.
Help me end the federal government’s bigotry by chipping into my reelection campaign today.
Democrats claim to hate bigotry.
If that’s true, I should have no problem finding bipartisan support to pass this bill.
But something tells me they’ll find a way to excuse hiring practices that are race-based, sex-based, or based on anything other than merit.
They’ll probably even find a way to call me a bigot for trying to end the practice.
Help me hold them accountable with a generous contribution to my reelection campaign.
It is important to show Democrats and Republicans in Congress that the American people want this bill passed into law, and that is why your contribution today is so important.
We all know the federal government is slow, bloated, and unproductive.
That’s partly because for far too long, it has been setting hiring quotas based on meaningless traits, instead of on merit.
I want the federal government to hire the best people for the job.
The fact that we even need a law for this seems a bit insane, but someone has to make it happen.
