John,

It’s Majority Monday!

I launched Majority Monday to share how our Democratic majority is working in Congress to solve problems and deliver results for the American people.

Just 6 months ago, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were sworn in — and immediately went to work getting our nation on the path to recovery. Thanks to the American Rescue Plan we passed in February, the United States is now leading the world in vaccinating people. We’re crushing the pandemic. And we’re lifting our economy out of the ditch and building back better.

Here are a few specific ways our Democratic majority is making a difference:

Last month I introduced the FUTURE Act — a comprehensive 21st Century water infrastructure bill that would make California and other western states more resilient through smart investments in proven, innovative water management solutions without compromising our environmental values.

When Congress was in Republican hands not long ago, they tried repeatedly to greenlight the Keystone XL pipeline — an environmentally devastating project that would significantly undermine efforts to decarbonize and transition our economy to clean energy. Because we took back the Congress and ended the Trump Presidency, that threat is now over. On January 20th, President Biden cancelled building permits for Keystone XL, and just last week, the sponsors of the project announced they are officially abandoning it.

I recently co-sponsored the Equality Act which would provide non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ people in employment, housing, public spaces, federally funded programs, and so much more. The Equality Act has already passed the House, and during this Pride Month, my colleagues and I are working with the Senate to get this legislation to Joe Biden’s desk — something that would not be possible under a GOP majority.

We’re making a difference because YOU made a difference — with your votes, your calls, and donations that continue to help us win key elections across the nation. All of that is on the line in next year’s midterm elections.

John, will you contribute to our Majority Monday Fund to help us continue our work to rebuild this great nation? [[link removed]{{DistributionId}}]

Thank you for believing in America’s future,
