Dear friend,
I wanted to make sure you saw this critical alert from my colleague last week.
We're currently facing an onslaught of more than a dozen bills purposely designed to make it harder for people to vote. Extremists like State Senator Doug Mastriano are trying to turn back the clock on reforms like voting by mail that make it wasier for ALL Pennsylvanians to make their voices heard.
We're hard at work in Harrisburg fighting to make sure our elections stay fair, free, and accessible.

State Senator Doug Mastriano -- who led buses to Washington, DC for the January 6 insurrection -- took his assault on our democracy to the next level last week when he called for an audit of Pennsylvania’s elections following his trip to Arizona to tour the sham election audit happening there.
Now we’re learning that the strategy to hire for-profit companies with zero experience in elections to conduct private, unofficial election audits was pioneered here in Pennsylvania by none other than Mastriano and his colleagues. 1
We know that good environmental laws can only come from good environmental lawmakers. And in order to elect those lawmakers, we need to have a safe, convenient, accessible election process we can trust. But instead, Mastriano and his allies in the legislature have introduced more than a dozen bills to make it harder for people to vote -- including repealing the state’s expanded vote-by-mail policy that enabled hundreds of thousands of people to vote safely during the pandemic.
We’ve got to fight these attacks on our democracy with everything we’ve got. But the truth is, our resources are running low, especially as we continue to fight back against an unusually high number of anti-environmental attacks coming out of Harrisburg. The scale of our work all depends on our members.
Friend, the number one way you can help is by becoming a member today.

Let me be clear -- Senator Mastriano is leveraging his attack on our democracy to build his name recognition and score points with Donald Trump as he considers running for governor in 2022. But if these attacks are passed, it will make it harder for each of us to make our voices heard.
We’re not going to let his scheme stay under the radar. Here’s what we’re doing about it:
First, we’re shining a light on these attempts to undermine voters’ confidence in our democratic processes. Second, we’re fighting the bills that would create barriers for people to register and cast their vote -- barriers that primarily would target young voters, low-income voters, and voters of color. Third, we’re working hand in hand with allies to broaden our democracy, make it easier for people to make their voices heard, and give local election officials the support they need to conduct our elections safely and fairly.
These attacks on our democracy demand an all-hands-on deck response. Friend, can I count on you to speak up for the right to vote in Pennsylvania by becoming a member today? DONATE >> [[link removed]]
