Friend --

It’s not the time to do music just to enjoy the song. It’s time to shake people.”

Those are words of Tunisian-born singer Emel Mathlouthi, whose latest album Everywhere We Looked Was Burning is designed grip people’s conscience and inspire them to change the world.

Emel has been melding music and message in ways that resonate all over the world, and it was precisely her non-stop innovative artistic contributions to social justice that moved us to present her with an award of Special Recognition at last year's Kahlil Gibran Spirit of Humanity Awards Gala. We are delighted to be closing out her Everywhere We Looked Was Burning fall tour with a special performance on the evening of October 17, 2019 at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C.

Pitchfork recently said "the World Needs Emel Mathlouthi's Anthems Against the Dictatorship Machine." NPR calls her, "the 21st Century's Catalyst for Change." We call her a powerful Arab American voice using her talents to inspire.

There are a number of special ticketing opportunities available for this concert. Students can attend for just $20, and groups of 5 or more can purchase a ticket bundle for more than 30% off! Click here to view ticketing options.
