Emel has been melding music and message in ways that resonate all
over the world, and it was precisely her non-stop innovative artistic
contributions to social justice that moved us to present her with an
award of Special Recognition at last year's Kahlil Gibran
Spirit of Humanity Awards Gala. We are delighted to be closing out
her Everywhere We Looked Was Burning fall tour with a special
performance on the evening of October 17, 2019 at the Lincoln Theatre
in Washington, D.C.
Pitchfork recently said "the World Needs Emel Mathlouthi's Anthems Against the
Dictatorship Machine." NPR calls her, "the 21st Century's Catalyst for Change." We call
her a powerful Arab American voice using her talents to
inspire.
