Dear John, 1 in 6 Gen Z adults (aka 18-24 year olds) identify as LGTBQ+. These young voters are critical to the future of our democracy, but many face a challenging path to secure identification that is acceptable for voting and that accurately reflects their name and/or gender. In honor of Pride month, VoteRiders joined HeadCount's Vote With Pride team to launch #TransPeopleVote – a campaign to provide the ID and information trans and non-binary voters need to cast their ballots safely and confidently. Voters can reference HeadCount.org/Pride to learn about their state's requirements for updating vital documents and state-issued IDs. If they have questions or need help, VoteRiders is standing by with personalized support via our Helpline and Chatbot. This critical project was only possible thanks to a dedicated team of pro bono attorneys who volunteered their time to ensure our resources and guidance are comprehensive and up-to-date. How you can help: -
Check out HeadCount.org/Pride and share this essential information with your family, friends, and community. -
Spread the word about #TransPeopleVote on social media. You can share our posts on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook! -
Support VoteRiders’ Voter ID Clinics as a volunteer - or monthly donor! You can make a direct and immediate impact. Our commitment to assisting trans and non-binary voters will certainly not end with Pride month! At least 2 million LGTBQ+ Americans are eligible to vote but not registered…and there are thousands of elections happening this year and next. With our gratitude, Kathleen and the VoteRiders Team | |
