On Monday, AAF released a video that we made with the awesome folks at UnRestrict Minnesota about bullshit abortion laws on the books in their state. Unrestrict MN is suing the state to get these terrible Minnesota laws off the books and we made this video to help amplify their amazing work. 

I was born and raised in Minnesota, so I have extra rage about what is happening there. When I was sixteen, I was lucky enough to be able to get an abortion in Minnesota without the harmful challenges that the Minnesota legislature has created for minors. Today in Minnesota, a person under eighteen needs the permission of BOTH PARENTS to get an abortion. Doctors are forced to give MEDICALLY INACCURATE information to their patients, who then have to wait a totally UNNECESSARY 24 hours to get the care they need. 

I spend all my waking hours (and most sleeping hours too, tbh) fighting these kinds of abortion restrictions and the jerks who try to pass them. 

What you may not know is that the worst kinds of these laws exist in SO. MANY. states. Some are in practice and some are arcane laws that just remained on the books because Roe V. Wade made them unconstitutional. Laws like, “You have to get permission from the man who impregnated you to have an abortion”! Unless these laws are taken off the books, they will go back into effect if Roe V. Wade is overruled by the Supreme Court, which is the way we’re headed. So we need to get rid of them before that happens.
