Dear Friend,
I wanted to remind you to join me Wednesday at 3:00 PM Eastern <[link removed]> for our ‘Conversations with Rachael Belz" series. Neil Waggoner and I will discuss the fight to repeal the OVEC coal bailout portion of House Bill 6 (HB6).
<[link removed]>REGISTER <[link removed]>
The plot thickens
Last Tuesday, American Electric Power — the largest shareholder in the cooperative that owns the OVEC coal-fired plants — was served a subpoena from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission <[link removed]>. The SEC is seeking various documents related to how the legislation benefited the company. AEP will receive an estimated $700 million via House Bill 6.
In a written statement AEP said it is “cooperating fully” and that "AEP continues to believe that our participation in the HB6 process was at all times lawful and ethical."
Tune into our event to find out more!
Would you also chip in $20 to help us continue to this work <[link removed]> to retire these dirty coal plants and protect ratepayers and the health of every Ohioan?
I hope to see you Wednesday. Thank you!
Rachael Belz, Ohio Citizen Action
