Dear John,
Family Research Council is thrilled to announce the launch of the Center for Biblical Worldview (CBW), a new ministry that exists to equip Christians to think biblically and train them to advance and defend the faith in their families, communities, and the public square.
Why focus on worldview? Worldview influences everything we do. It informs how we see and interact with the world. It affects how we answer life's most fundamental questions. According to a recent study, only six percent of American adults hold a biblical worldview. This means that most of our friends and neighbors (including many who attend church) do not see life's most important theological, cultural, and political issues through the lens of Scripture.
FRC wants to reverse the trend of increasing biblical illiteracy. As America becomes more secular and hostile to the gospel, it will become increasingly important for followers of Jesus to know what they believe and why. This is exactly what the Center for Biblical Worldview equips people to do.
In addition, I am excited to announce that Drs. George Barna and Owen Strachan have joined the FRC team. Both scholars will serve as senior fellows within the CBW. Their contributions will include curriculum, national surveys, informative videos, written content, and more.
In conjunction with the center's launch, we have also released the results of our national survey analyzing the state of worldview in America. The survey results reveal that 51 percent of Americans believe that they have a biblical worldview, while only six percent of Americans actually do. This discrepancy between people's perceptions and reality points to Americans having a foundational misunderstanding of what a biblical worldview is. However, it also suggests that tens of millions of Americans believe a biblical worldview is important and are open to having Scripture inform how they engage with the world. The Center for Biblical Worldview is designed to capitalize on this window of opportunity by equipping all who desire to learn more about Christianity and what it means to see things through the lens of Scripture.

We live in challenging times. But God is faithful and promises never to leave or forsake us. My prayer is that the Center for Biblical Worldview can serve you by equipping you to "stand firm" (Eph. 6:14) for the truth of God's Word, and remain standing despite the compromising culture which surrounds us all.
Sincerely,
David E. Closson Director of the Center for Biblical Worldview Family Research Council
