Greetings from Washington, D.C., where we get a first-hand look at the border crisis and explain why, if you think this problem won’t affect you, you’re wrong. We also expose the “Equality Act” for what it is—a discriminatory law that will harm our children. And we lay out a winning conservative agenda that will unite the right and attract centrists, without watering down our principles. There are events, podcasts, and more featured in this week’s Agenda.
Biden’s Border Crisis Is Coming to Your Front Door <[link removed]>
The Biden administration
still refuses to acknowledge the scope and the danger of the historic border crisis, much less its role in creating the debacle. But Heritage senior adviser Mike Howell says it’s a danger that, left unchecked, will be at your front door in no time. He knows because he visited the border and witnessed the mayhem firsthand. “Every town is border town now,” Howell says. Watch the full video of Howell’s visit to the border to learn more about what this crisis is doing to America <[link removed]>.
How the Equality Act’s Gender Ideology Would Harm Children <[link removed]>
Despite its name, the “Equality Act” being pushed by the left
would not only enforce discrimination against large swaths of the American people, but it would also pose a serious threat to the health and well-being of children, according to Emilie Kao, director of Heritage’s DeVos Center for Religion and Civil Society, and Daily Signal contributor Nicole Russell. “The Equality Act would lead to the imposition of a destructive gender ideology in school curricula that would cause more children to become distressed and confused about their bodies,” Kao and Russell write in their latest report. An Agenda to Unite Conservatives and Attract Centrists <[link removed]>
The left loves nothing more than to predict the demise of conservatives in the United States. But despite the sometimes-rancorous debate, conservatives are united on several key issues—and so are most Americans. In a compelling new article written by Heritage vice presidents leading four of our research institutes, Charmaine Yoest, Jack Spencer, John Malcolm, and James Jay Carafano lay out 12 planks that will unite conservatives and attract a large swath of centrists. “Any national leader who champions the consensus conservative agenda is likely to win the support of a vast swath of America,” they write.
