Tell Democrats in Congress: Undocumented youth shouldn’t have to live in fear >>
John,
In a minute, we're going to ask you to sign a petition demanding Congress to give young immigrants a path to citizenship. But first, we want to explain why Sunrise is emailing you about this issue.
In the last decade alone, more than 24 million people around the globe have been displaced by extreme weather events. In some areas, that number is expected to increase eight times over in the next 30 years.
As climate change continues to drive migration and exacerbate the global refugee crisis, we in the climate movement can’t stay silent when the same elected officials who fail to act on climate neglect to address the failures of the violent, dehumanizing U.S. immigration system. That’s why Sunrise is demanding that Biden and Democrats in Congress create a path to permanent citizenship for undocumented youth.
Next week, on the 9th anniversary of DACA, our friends at United We Dream are delivering thousands of signatures to Capitol Hill to make these demands heard. Will you add your name to support a path to citizenship?

Undocumented people deserve the freedom to live without fear. And while DACA represented a huge sigh of relief for young immigrants, it’s far from enough. We need to abolish ICE, create a path to citizenship for undocumented people, and create a system that treats people with dignity and respect regardless of their immigration status.
This moment is a test of our values, John. As youth leaders in the climate movement, it’s our responsibility to stand with our undocumented siblings in their fight for justice and dignity — and right now, that means pushing for a path to permanent citizenship.
Let’s show those in power just how strong our movement can be when we stand together. Click here to demand that Biden and Congress give undocumented youth the opportunity to live without fear of deportation.
