[1]Bowman for Congress

John — it's hard
to believe, but 2021 is nearly halfway over.

While it's going to be important for our team to hit our end-of-quarter
fundraising goal by the end of this month, we also believe it's important
to reflect back and share the things Jamaal has already accomplished
during his time in office—all because of your support.

Here are just a few things Jamaal has been able to accomplish thus far:

✅ Introduce his first piece of legislation, the Congressional Oversight
of Unjust Policing (COUP) Act, which inspired the introduction of a
9/11-style investigation into the January 6th attack on the Capitol
✅ Joined the House Committee on Education and Labor as Vice Chair to
lead on issues like unions, public education, and infrastructure
✅ Spoke up loudly on behalf of students, families, and educators who
were bearing the brunt of the pandemic's impacts on public education and
access
✅ Worked with state and local government officials in New York to open
up COVID-19 vaccine clinics in New York's 16th District, the first
epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States
✅ Drafted and advocated for the Care for All Agenda and challenged
President Biden to expand care infrastructure investment
✅ Introduced legislation with Rep. Cori Bush to make power a
publicly-owned utility so that corporate entities don't get to decide
who gets heat or electricity for basic survival
✅ Affirmed that all Americans have a right to broadband and introduced
the Broadband Justice Act, which would subsidize broadband like other
utilities for those in federally assisted housing
✅ Delivered the Working Families Party response to President Biden's
speech to Congress, continuing to provide the progressive perspective to
the White House and pushing the administration to be accountable to the
people that voted them in
✅ Continued to push back against the status quo and political
establishment and urged establishment lawmakers to consider critical,
democracy-saving efforts, like ending the filibuster and passing the For
The People Act

John, that's just
scratching the surface — and it's all been possible because of the support
you've given. We can't do this without you.

Our work has just begun in Washington. And as we get closer to 2022 —
we're nearly halfway there! — we need to continue growing our progressive
movement, making sure Jamaal can focus 100% of his time on putting forth
bold legislation, and gearing up our campaign for re-election.

That's why our campaign has a goal of raising $10,000 over emails just
like this one by midnight Tuesday. Your contribution supports Jamaal's
leadership, and to make sure he can stay fighting for the progressive
agenda in Congress for years to come.

[ [link removed] ]Strong fundraising is always important, but it's especially critical
this month; in less than 20 days, we'll have to submit our fundraising for
the quarter to the FEC. So, if you're able to make your
a
contribution to our campaign today, we'd greatly
appreciate it. Thank you,
John.
