Friend,

The news cycle these days could change before you finish reading this email, so I want to make sure you heard about this:

Mitch McConnell was caught promising Republican donors that he would stop any effort to impeach President Trump in the Senate.

That's right. No matter what this investigation turns up, Mitch McConnell is openly admitting that he'll refuse to hold the president accountable.

Look, it's easy to chalk that up to another way D.C. is broken. But the truth is impeachment should never be just another partisan fight--no matter which party holds power. Our founders designed a serious constitutional process that requires good faith from everyone who's taken the oath of office.

But it's clear that Mitch McConnell believes the Senate belongs to him and the Republican Party, not the American people.

Together we can make sure his majority ends after the next election. Our path to taking back the Senate starts right here in Colorado--will you chip in to help me bring some overdue change to Washington?

In the midst of a congressional investigation, my opponent has yet to say anything of substance about the White House scandal. Cory Gardner has spent the past three years taking his cues from Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump. I hope that changes, but I won't be holding my breath.

Regardless of what plays out in this impeachment inquiry, it's crystal clear that we need real leadership from our elected officials in Washington.

That's why I'm running, and that's why we have to win. Chip in to help send me to the Senate and end Mitch McConnell's stranglehold on our democracy.

Thank you,

John
