[1]Bowman for Congress
John, early
voting has officially begun in New York City!
I spent my day yesterday going all across New York City, meeting
constituents, getting fired up with volunteers who were rallying and
door-knocking for local races, from Mayor to Comptroller to City Council.

The stakes in New York City are just too high for any of us to stay on the
sidelines. If we want to realize a progressive vision for the city, we
need to mobilize and work to elect progressives up and down the ballot,
especially now that early voting has begun.
[ [link removed] ]The question of who will lead the biggest, most vibrant city in
America is one I deeply care about, and it's one none of us can afford to
ignore. Right now, two candidates — Maya Wiley for Mayor and Tahanie
Aboushi for Manhattan's District Attorney — need our support to get out
the vote in particular. If you can, will you join me in supporting their
campaigns with a split donation today?

Maya Wiley has a vision to move our city forward as our next mayor. It's
the right one for the moment. Her whole career has been spent fighting to
dismantle systemic racism, and make New York a place that works for all of
us.
As mayor, she'll be a transformative leader who'll uplift marginalized
communities and serve everyone. I'm proud to endorse her alongside folks
like AOC, the Working Families Party, and Elizabeth Warren.
Tahanie Aboushi is running to be the next District Attorney of Manhattan.
She has a strong focus on decarceration and decriminalization in her
practice of the law — and understands just as much as anyone else how much
needs to change.
As a Black man who was born and raised in Manhattan, many of my own
personal experiences with the criminal justice system and law enforcement
come from the abuse I suffered at the hands of police in Manhattan when I
was a child.
DAs have the power to change our justice system, and I have no doubt that
Tahanie's leadership will be revolutionary. I'm proud to endorse her
alongside Bernie Sanders, Snoop Dogg, and Kyrie Irving.
[ [link removed] ]Both candidates and their campaigns are working hard to make sure that
they can secure votes during this early voting period and on Election Day,
June 22. I hope you'll join me in supporting both Maya and Tahanie, and
our movement, today. Please rush a split donation to their campaigns right
now.
Peace and love,
Jamaal
