Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said the quiet part out loud:

"Some members represent communities that have never had their right to vote attacked. Joe Manchin is absolutely one of them, he does not represent a large portion of Black voters." -- Quoted in Insider

It's clear who Democratic Senator Joe Manchin (WV) represents, and it's certainly not us. Manchin says he will be voting NO on the For the People Act -- a sweeping package of democracy reforms that includes defending and expanding every person's right to vote.

Manchin's 'no' vote could be the end of the For the People Act. Meanwhile, voting rights are under attack in 48 out of 50 state legislatures across the country -- and those voter suppression laws disproportionately target Black people.

We can't rely on Manchin to do the right thing, friend. There's too much at stake. So we're taking matters into our own hands.

We launched an emergency 2022 Get Out The Vote Fund, and we're working to raise $10,000 by Tuesday at midnight. Help us engage Black voters and get them to the polls. Chip in before the deadline.
