Right now in this country, you see two wildly different campaigns that will impact voting in America. On one hand, you have the recently exposed -- and shocking -- Heritage Foundation model:

❖ Top-down voter suppression: We recently learned about Heritage Action’s role in the new wave of voter suppression laws. Heritage is attempting to trick voters into believing their anti-voter laws have local support: “We have a sentinel on our behalf give [state legislators our] model legislation so it has that grassroots, from-the-bottom-up type of vibe.”

❖ Big money: Heritage is investing a whopping $24 million to get laws on the books that will deter voters from casting their ballot.

❖ VP Mike Pence behind the scenes: Pence recently joined the Heritage Foundation and is still disguising voter suppression as “election integrity” even after a mob outraged by the Big Lie targeted him on January 6.

It’s enough to make you lose sleep. But then I think about the work our donors are supporting. The work that allows us to fight back. (You can join over 2,000 supporters who have donated this month by clicking below.)

Here’s a snippet of our work:

❖ A real bottom-up movement: We’ve driven over 20,000 emails or calls to the Senate from constituents to demand the passage of the For the People Act -- a law that would stop many voter suppression bills in their tracks. We also just helped deliver over 330,000 coalition petition signatures to Congress in support of the bill. And we have state directors on the ground working with local activists in nine states.

❖ Grassroots funding: We’ve already reached over 35,000 grassroots donations this year. Each contribution has played an important role in helping us craft both a state-by-state strategy and a national campaign to reform our democracy.

❖ A.G. Holder leading the charge: A.G. Holder has been on a media blitz this week -- doing interviews with Chris Cuomo and Rachel Maddow in the past few days. On Cuomo’s show, the A.G. said: “I think progressives and Democrats are too often uncomfortable with the acquisition and use of power...we've got the people behind us. And we have to use that power."

As Senator Manchin himself said, “inaction is not an option.” Chip in today. It’ll help us prove to him and every other politician who has the power to save our democracy: it’s now or never.
