Team,

Here's the latest of what Chrissy's been up to:

Chrissy Addresses Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense

Co-Chaired by former PA Governor Tom Ridge, the Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense assesses our nation’s capabilities to monitor and detect biological threats, prevent and protect against them, and respond to and recover from these threats. Chrissy spoke at the Commission’s September meeting on Cyberbio Convergence: Characterizing the Multiplicative Threat. Trained as an engineer at Stanford and then MIT, Chrissy spent her time in the Air Force working on ballistic missile defense, and she now sits on the House Armed Services and Foreign Affairs Committees.

Chrissy Continues String of Town Halls

When Chrissy ran for office, she made a promise to her community to be accessible, to listen, and to bring constituents’ ideas back to Washington. So far, she’s held nine in-person town halls and two telephone town halls. Telephone town halls allow those who can’t make it in person to participate in the conversation. During the most recent telephone town hall, Chrissy discussed gun safety legislation, including two background checks bills that the House passed that she is urging Senators to take up for a vote. There were questions about veterans' health care in Coatesville, an issue that is quite personal for Chrissy as she, her father, and grandfather all served. She is working to make sure every veteran has access to health care at their local VA. Other topics included efforts to combat climate change and increasing the literacy rate in the Commonwealth.

Chrissy Reaches Across the Aisle to Host Congressional Startup Day

Chrissy served as co-chair of this year’s bipartisan Congressional Startup Day alongside Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA). In their joint op-ed marking the day, Chrissy wrote, “It’s our duty to continue fighting for good-paying jobs in our communities, jobs that pay our constituents a living wage so they can provide for themselves and their families.” To celebrate, Chrissy visited Berks LaunchBox, an innovative “collaboration between Penn State Berks and Penn State Health St. Joseph to engage students, faculty, physicians, medical staff, and the community in helping grow the economy and improve the quality of life in the greater Reading area.” As a former entrepreneur and business leader in southeastern Pennsylvania, Chrissy is committed to building a strong economy with jobs that treat workers with respect and provide a living wage.

Thank you for being by our side,
