Republicans in Texas recently tried to force through SB7, one of the worst voter suppression bills in the country.
In the run-up to the scheduled vote on this legislation, All On The Line’s grassroots network was called upon to demand the legislature vote “no” on SB7. When it was time for the scheduled vote, the partisan politicians who were spearheading this bill were unable to pass it.
SB7 is stalled for now because folks like you spoke out and rallied against it. And because Texas Democrats heard your calls -- they walked out of the chamber and denied a quorum to Republicans who want to suppress the vote. But this development may just be temporary. Republicans have signaled they’ll bring this bill back up for a vote later this year.
Our state-by-state strategy is key to making sure anti-democracy legislation like SB7 never passes. It’s worked thus far but we know the hyper-partisan lawmakers in Texas and across the country are committed to the dismantling of our democracy.
As they ramp up their war on our democracy, we need to double-down on our fight to save it. Help us continue our consequential work to turn back the tide of voter suppression by making a donation -- of any amount -- right now!

If the anti-democracy legislators in Texas get their way and pass SB7, the bill will restrict voting access, ban drive-thru and extended voting, cut Sunday voting, and make it a felony to send mail-in ballots to all voters.
While the pro-democracy lawmakers in Texas helped stall SB7, Congress must now do its part and pass the For the People Act to ensure misguided politicians never come this close to passing anti-democracy legislation again.
Can we count on you to support All On The Line? We helped mobilize folks against voter suppression bill SB7 and similar ones -- but this work is only possible thanks to you. If you donate, your contribution will be put to work immediately.
