Removing Trump from office is only the first step in reversing the damage from the right-wing war on democracy. We also have to fix the broken system that put him there in the first place: unlimited dark-money contributions, illegal voter suppression, and legalized corruption in the executive branch.

Right now, one man stands in the way of all that: Mitch McConnell. HR 1 would upend the corrupt status quo that McConnell relies on to keep power. That’s why it’ll take immense public pressure to force his hand and hold a vote in the Senate.

Folks, one look at the headlines reveals that Trump’s Washington is rife with corruption, and fueled by special interests with deep pockets of dark money from who-knows-where.
