Hey Team,
In 2021 there have been over 250 anti-LGBT laws introduced in state legislatures across the country — one of the worst years on record for LGBTQ rights in America.
I’m protected by the laws in New Hampshire, but far, FAR too many LGBTQ Americans are not. In 27 states they can still be evicted, kicked out of a restaurant, or denied a loan based on who they love or their gender identity.
Earlier this year my fellow NewDems and I passed The Equality Act in the House which would extend non-discrimination protections to LGBTQ Americans — but our bill is still waiting to be voted on in the Senate.
This Pride Month can and should be a celebration of love, living authentically, and accepting ourselves and others, but it must also be an opportunity for us to recommit to fighting for dignity and equality for all Americans. If you’re with us, chip in $5 or more to NewDems to strengthen our fight for justice and equality for all Americans — regardless of who they love or how they identify.
