Happy Pride! This month, we're celebrating the entire LGBTQ+ community, including countless Black LGBTQ+ Americans. Leaders like:

Storm? DeLarverie, known as the "guardian of lesbians in the Village" and Black theater Jewel Box Revue's only drag king.
Marsha P. Johnson, leader of the 1969 protest at New York's Stonewall Inn and advocate for homeless, LGTBQ+ youth.
James Baldwin, American novelist, playwright, essayist, poet, and activist.
Bayard Rustin, civil rights activist and key advisor to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Audre Lorde, writer and leading voice in feminist theory, critical race studies, and queer theory.

The list goes on, friend, and it's growing.

Black LGBTQ+ Americans have been pioneers in the fight for justice and equality for generations. This Pride Month is our chance to recommit to our fight for full, lived equality for all -- including by getting the Equality Act to President Biden's desk for a signature. To show solidarity for the Black queer community, add your name today.

2021 has been one of the worst years in recent history for LGBTQ+ rights. Right now, extremist lawmakers are trying to pass anti-trans legislation at the state level that directly targets transgender youth. And LGBTQ+ Americans -- especially Black transgender women -- are still facing unprecedented rates of homelessness, violence, discrimination, and hate.

Today is also the anniversary of the Orlando Pulse shooting, where a gunman took the lives of 49 predominantly LGBTQ+ Hispanic Americans in 2016. It's important to recognize today's anniversary and the lives taken too soon. We are standing in solidarity with the victims' loved ones and the survivors of this horrific event.

We aren't free until we're ALL free. To join us in showing solidarity for the entire LGBTQ+ community, add your name this Pride Month.

Thank you,
