John, “ghost guns” are untraceable, fully functioning firearms that can be purchased online by anyone without a Brady Background Check. They’re used in heinous crimes across the country, including the murders of police officers and innocent children. These weapons have no place in our communities…
That’s why we were proud to join Gov. Tom Sisolak this week as he signed the first Nevada bill into law to ban ghost guns!
Thanks to your calls, emails, and strong leadership by our Brady Nevada leaders and partners, Nevada now joins states and localities like the District of Columbia, Hawaii, and New Jersey with a ban on the parts and kits used to assemble ghost guns. Christiane Brown of Brady Nevada (second from the left) joined the signing this past week. Nevada’s ban is by far one of the strongest in the nation: Not only does it ban ghost guns, but it also bans the parts necessary to build them. But here’s the thing, friend: The majority of states have NOT taken action to combat ghost guns. And over the pandemic, reports have shown a stark increase in the sale of these untraceable firearms.
That’s why we need your help in urging your governors and state lawmakers to join Nevada and BAN ghost guns for good.
We have no time to lose. Ghost guns threaten our public safety and since they are unregulated in many states, they essentially undermine ALL of the state laws in place to prevent gun violence. Please, help us celebrate our hard-fought victory in Nevada by urging your state to take action against ghost guns! Together, we will protect public safety and save countless lives.
RSVP: Team ENOUGH is Going on a Florida Recruitment Tour! Team ENOUGH, our youth-led initiative, was founded in 2018 after the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Since that day, youth leaders have led an unapologetic quest to say ENOUGH to gun violence: They’ve testified before Congress, passed major gun safety legislation, and have even taken over the evening news. Now, almost exactly three years after Team ENOUGH was founded, they’re heading back to the so-called “Gunshine State” to recruit more youth to join the movement against gun violence — and we need your help spreading the word!

Here’s Why We Need to #ConfirmChipman to Lead the ATF: Explosive. Mind blowing. Incredibly frustrating.
These are some of the words lawmakers have used to describe our recent work exposing the reckless and illegal gun dealer practices that go ignored and condoned by the ATF, the federal agency charged with overseeing the gun industry.
Just two weeks after our work was reported on by USA TODAY, it is sparking legislative change. According to Yahoo News, lawmakers across the country are citing our investigation to push for urgent solutions. The ATF has even responded, and legislative solutions have advanced in New York. Our vital work underscores why we need a strong leader at the ATF. Will you urge Congress to #ConfirmChipman to lead the ATF? More now than ever before, we need a leader to enforce our nation’s gun laws and oversee the gun industry!
Five years ago today on June 12, 2016, 49 people — most of them young and Latinx — were murdered in the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. It remains the worst attack against the LGBTQ+ community in U.S. history. Today, easy access to guns continues to make hate lethal. We as a nation must rise up against racism, hatred, and our systemic failures to protect human life. Help us speak out to #DisarmHate and honor with action by sharing our graphic on Facebook. 🎧 Episode 133: Why an AR-15 Isn’t a Swiss Army Knife
Last week, a judge overturned California’s 30-year ban on assault weapons, even comparing AR-15s — which are the weapon of choice for America’s deadliest mass shooters — to a Swiss Army knife. To explain what this decision means, what happens next, and yes, how an AR-15 is not like a swiss army knife, we’re joined by gun violence survivor and activist Fred Guttenberg, whose daughter, Jaime, was murdered with an AR-15 in the Parkland massacre, and veteran Timothy "TJ" Ryan.
