Eastside For All invites you to a virtual community forum to explore “transformative placemaking,” a way of reimagining our built environments and public spaces to create a more connected, safer, and more vibrant community.

Keynote Speaker: Renée Cheng, Dean of the UW College of Built Environments

Event includes presentations highlighting local efforts and models, international examples, and community conversations to connect people across sectors.

Explore how transformative placemaking intersects with many of our region's sectors and efforts, including equity initiatives, urban planning, economic development, civic engagement, affordable housing, transportation, the arts, and environmental sustainability.

2021 Juneteenth Event
Saturday, June 19, 12-3pm
Redmond Downtown Park: 16101 NE, Redmond Way  

In recognition of WA State approving Juneteenth as a state holiday, the community is invited to learn about the history of Juneteenth and celebrate its significance. While we are still somewhat limited by COVID restrictions, we look forward to gathering together in honor of this important holiday.

 

Come celebrate! Help us grow this event for the Eastside in 2022 with food and more festivities. Join us and bring your ideas for how best to honor Juneteenth for our community in the coming years!

Black High School Graduates: If you would like to attend and be honored on stage, please submit your name, email address and/or phone number to [email protected] by Friday June 11th. Na’eemah Webb, Family and Community Engagement Liaison, LWSD, will be introducing students and calling them up to be celebrated. All Black high school seniors in BSD, LWSD, and ISD are welcome to participate.

Location and Parking

The Redmond Downtown Park is located at 16101 NE, Redmond Way. There is free on-street parking all around the park and more than 80 parking spaces one block from the park at the Sky Painting parking lot at the corner of Leary Way and Bear Creek Parkway, where the first four hours of parking are free.

Please practice current public health safety guidelines including social distancing and the use of face coverings as recommended.
