I'm writing at a critical time for the For the People Act and our fight to defend the freedom to vote. You may have seen that Senator Joe Manchin stated his opposition to the legislation. I'm here to tell you that this will NOT deter us, the fight is NOT over, and we will NOT stop until we've successfully defended voting rights for every American.

Republicans like Mitch McConnell are hoping that Senator Manchin's announcement will discourage us. They're hoping that we’ll drop our fight and allow them to pass more voter suppression laws across the country, ensuring decades of GOP election "wins." To quote A.G. Holder, I'll be damned if we’re going to let that happen.

This is not a moment to let up pressure -- this is a moment to double down and show that, as the polls prove, there is extraordinary, bipartisan support for the For the People Act (including in Senator Manchin’s West Virginia!). And to do that, we need your help. Can you dig deep and make a donation to help us get this bill over the finish line?


Let me be clear: We CAN get this done. And we must. Because our most basic freedom -- the freedom to vote in fair elections -- depends on it.
