June 2021 QUICK COVID RESOURCES COVID19.Colorado.gov COVID Testing Find a Vaccine Provider Colorado Exposure Notifications GOVERNOR POLIS ANNOUNCES SECOND WINNER OF $1 MILLION COLORADO COMEBACK CASH VACCINE DRAWING Governor Polis announced the winner of the second $1 million Colorado Comeback Cash Vaccine Drawing. Stephanie Ward of Littleton is the latest Coloradan to win the drawing. “Each person has their own reason for getting vaccinated and everyone who gets protected is a winner. Whether it’s to protect your own health, travel again, see family, or maybe it’s to win a million dollars, there are so many reasons to get the lifesaving COVID vaccine. Congratulations to Stephanie and her family on winning $1 million just for quickly and easily getting vaccinated,” said Governor Polis. “From any free drive-thru options at one of Colorado’s six community vaccination sites, to your family doctor, or even the local CVS or Walgreens down the road, there are a variety of ways to get a shot today. Don’t wait, get the highly effective, free COVID vaccine as soon as you can.” “It is my honor to be Colorado’s second comeback cash winner. Initially, my family wasn’t in agreement with getting the COVID vaccine. But we weighed the risks and benefits and ultimately, we decided the benefits outweighed any fears that we had,” said Stephanie Ward, Colorado’s second Comeback Cash winner. “COVID is a very real thing and for myself and a lot of people, we’ve all had losses over this past year and time lost that we can’t take back with our loved ones. Our hope in getting the COVID-19 vaccine is to get back to normalcy and protect our loved ones.” There are still three more chances for Coloradans to win $1 million as part of the Colorado Comeback Cash drawing. Coloradans 18 and older who have received the vaccine will be automatically registered to win. Winners will be announced June 18, June 25, with the final winner being announced on July 7. Coloradans must be vaccinated by June 30 to qualify to win on July 7. Younger Coloradans ages 12 to 17 are eligible for the Colorado Comeback Cash Scholarship drawing. Five eligible Coloradans will be randomly selected to win a $50,000 scholarship each week for four weeks. Drawings for the Comeback Cash Scholarship will occur on Mondays and winners will be announced on Thursdays June 17, June 24, July 1, and July 8. COLORADO COMEBACK CASH SCHOLARSHIP DRAWING To make our schools even safer this fall, it’s critical that all eligible students, staff, and families receive the vaccine. The first drawing for Colorado’s Comeback Cash Scholarship Drawing was held Monday, June 7th, and will run every week through Friday, July 9, giving five lucky winners a $50,000 postsecondary education scholarship every week. That’s 25 lucky Colorado kids that are going to get $50,000 scholarships! If you’re a 12, 13, 14, or 15 year old winner and college is still a few years down the line, funds awarded will be placed in an interest-bearing CollegeInvest account until winners are ready to apply them toward a higher education, including a technical or credential program, and every single cent of that $50,000 dollars can be accessed. Learn more about the Comeback Cash Scholarship Drawing ELIGIBILITY & TIMELINE To be eligible to win and claim the prize, a person must: Be a living resident of between the ages of 12 and 17 years old. Have already received at least one vaccine dose or will receive at least one shot before each weekly drawing. COLORADO COMEBACK CASH To incentivize a win for all of us and sweeten the deal for a lucky few, we’re putting $5 million dollars from CARES Act funds at the end of the finish line with Colorado Comeback Cash Vaccine Drawings. As part of this public health initiative, every Friday in June and the first Wednesday in July, the Colorado Lottery will conduct a random drawing on behalf of CDPHE to identify one vaccinated Colorado resident to win a million-dollar cash prize. And the promise of a more normal life fulfilled by vaccines, means this lottery truly has no losers. ELIGIBILIY & TIMELINE To be eligible to win and claim the prize, a person must: Be a living resident of the State of Colorado. Be at least 18 years of age. Not be an administrator of the Colorado Immunization Information System, a Colorado Lottery employee conducting the drawing, an auditor certifying the drawing, the Governor of the State of Colorado, the Lt. Governor of the State of Colorado, or the Senior Director of the Colorado Lottery. Have received at least the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine if receiving the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose if receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Have not already won. Have signed and submitted all required documentation and releases as part of the claims process by the deadlines identified in the drawing procedures. If a Coloradan is selected as a winner, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) will reach out to verify eligibility. For more information about the drawing, please read the FAQ and the official rules. "POWER THE COMEBACK" BUSINESS PLEDGE From the beginning of this pandemic, we’ve been making decisions based on saving lives and livelihoods. And we know that the good times come back when we all do our part to power the Colorado Comeback for ourselves, our families, businesses, and students by supporting the decision to get vaccinated. Business owners and employees have been innovative and nimble in the face of this crisis. There are incredible stories of resilience, and that is in no small part due to so many Coloradans getting the vaccine, who can now do the things they love and give our economy a much-needed boost in the process. That’s why the State is launching a new business tool as part of our "Power the Comeback" campaign, which will encourage businesses to do their part by encouraging employees to get vaccinated and by promoting policies that create COVID-safe workplaces. Through this "Power the Comeback" campaign, businesses can take the Power the Comeback business pledge. Here are some of the ways we are asking Colorado businesses to help public-facing workers understand the benefits of getting vaccinated and understand the support their employers can provide: Host a vaccine clinic for employees. Promote information about the Colorado law that mandates paid time off to get the vaccine and recover from vaccine side effects. Provide incentives for employees to get vaccinated (e.g., cash bonuses, additional paid time off, etc.). Share information about nearby vaccination clinics with employees and customers. Commit to posting ample signage about safe COVID-19 behaviors, mask rules for those who are unvaccinated, employee rights, and quarantining rules if exposed to COVID-19. Have a policy in place that encourages any individual aged 12 and older, who is not fully vaccinated, to continue wearing a mask inside your workplace. A toolkit that includes posters, graphics and other materials for use will be available once your pledge is received. Take the pledge! WORKPLACE VACCINATION PROGRAM Getting the vaccine should be as easy as showing up for work. The Governor is proud to announce that Colorado is offering a new workplace vaccination program, which will allow employers, unions, and trade associations of any size to provide their workers with more opportunities to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in a familiar and convenient location. Employers can enroll and request a free, on-site vaccination event by filling out a Google form - there is no workplace too small to get vaccinated! Request a Workplace Vaccination Clinic All staffing, logistics, and vaccine supplies will be coordinated and provided by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The State of Colorado has been ahead of the curve on getting our workforce protected against this virus. All regular employees in Colorado receive four hours of paid time off (PTO) to use for vaccine appointments and to recover from vaccine side effects. If you’re a regular employee and find this is not the case in your workplace, call the Department of Labor and Employment’s Division of Labor Standards and Statistics at (303) 318-8441 to ask questions or voice a complaint. MOBILE CLINICS Offering both Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines, these mobile clinics are for everyone 12 years and older!
