This isn’t a coincidence, John.
Since Cori’s first day in office — the GOP, Fox News, and every right-wing media group has made Cori a top target of their false, racist attacks.
It’s the same kind of hatred and vicious attacks that Black women in power face every day.
Black women have been leading the charge toward justice and equality for decades. Republicans are terrified of the movement we’re building and will do anything to silence us.
It’s why Fox News has made Cori and women of color regular targets of their racist talking points. It’s why Cori chose to move her office away from Marjorie Taylor Greene’s. And it’s why today we want to send a loud message that we are not backing down in our fight to dismantle white supremacy and systemic racism in our country.
In the 1920s, Mary McLeod Bethune stared down the KKK to help Black men vote.
In the 1960s, Amelia Boynton was beaten while marching for voting rights.
Ever since Cori was elected, Fox News has regularly attacked Cori for dividing our country because she’s proud to legislate in defense of Black lives.
Black women are still fighting the same fight they’ve fought for decades.
That’s why it’s so critical and historic that Cori is now leading as the first activist from the movement for Black lives to serve in Congress. She ran on a promise to take our fight for racial justice to the next level and she has gone above and beyond to deliver on that promise.
From calling out voter suppression legislation, pushing Joe Biden to make serious reforms to our criminal-legal system, and fighting to remove white supremacists from Congress — Cori is leading a bold movement in D.C.
But Cori can’t do this work alone: she’s relying on grassroots support to power this work. If you can afford it, will you chip in $5 or anything you can today to make sure Cori has the resources to fight off GOP attacks and keep pushing for racial justice?
In solidarity,
Team Cori
