It’s beyond hypocritical that the leader of a party — that has fought to reject the Equality Act and basic civil rights for LGBTQIA people — has the audacity to wish a “Happy Pride Month.” We at Women’s March know that combatting homophobia and transphobia is critical work if we want to progress toward a feminist future.

Let’s make this clear: Attacking and dismantling basic human rights for LGBTQIA people has been a core part of the Republican party’s platform for decades.

Ronna’s words mean nothing when in reality the Republican party still refuses to pass the Equality Act, led efforts to ban transgender people from serving in the military, and fought to remove protections for LGBTQIA children in schools.

Even Chasten Buttigieg responded to Ronna’s tweet to call out her hypocrisy:
