Happy Pride Month! Our campaign is heating up as experts call PA-08 one of the must-win seats for Democrats to keep the House, and we’re working around the clock to make sure our district continues to be represented by someone who fights for real change -- not petty partisan points in online arguments.

Here’s your monthly Cartwright Chronicle with all the latest updates from the campaign:

Honoring the Fallen
Veterans’ issues are close to Matt’s heart. Over Memorial Day Weekend, Matt joined the Ladies Auxiliary for a picnic to remember and honor our fallen heroes at VFW Post 25 and the Sons of the American Legion and Auxiliary for events across NEPA. Meanwhile, in Congress, Matt is fighting to pass a bill he introduced that would help veterans of the Vietnam War get the health care they deserve.

To celebrate May’s municipal elections across Pennsylvania, Matt was able to have dinner with the rest of the PA Democratic delegation to Congress for the first time since 2019! He enjoyed being able to sit with his fellow PA Dems and talk about how they can keep working together to keep moving our Commonwealth forward as we continue to change the course of this pandemic.

We also celebrated the Congressman’s birthday on May 1st! It was a great way to kick off the month and come together as a team to celebrate Matt and all he does for our community every day.If you missed out on our birthday celebrations, why not chip in $5.01 to our campaign to re-elect Matt? We’re sure he’ll get a kick out of seeing the belated birthday wishes coming in. [[link removed]]

U.S. Labor Secretary Marty Walsh joined Matt for a tour of a PA-08 steel company
Matt Cartwright hosted U.S. Labor Secretary Marty Walsh and Senator Bob Casey in PA-08 for a tour of Piling Solutions in Hanover Twp. to discuss how the Biden Administration’s American Jobs Plan would benefit workers and businesses in the area. With billions of dollars in funding for infrastructure included in the plan, enacting it would mean more demand for the products this steel fabricator creates for big structures like bridges.

But the owners are still struggling to fill jobs as it is. That’s why Matt is dedicated to helping our small businesses and American manufacturers prosper through groundbreaking legislation like the American Jobs Plan and investments in job training that would prepare people for the good-paying, skilled manufacturing jobs available at local companies like Piling Solutions. When President Biden and Matt talk about Building Back Better, that’s exactly what they mean: rebuilding our nation with American-made products and American labor!
