New Coronavirus guidance for Greater Manchester

Greater Manchester has been identified as an area where the new Covid-19 variant, referred to as the Delta variant, is spreading quickly. This is because the new Covid-19 variant spreads more easily from person to person.

To help stop the spread, you should take particular caution when meeting anyone outside your household or support bubble.

You should:
* Meet outside rather than inside where possible
* Keep 2 metres apart from people that you don’t live with (unless you have formed a support bubble ([link removed]) with them), this includes friends and family you don’t live with
* Minimise travel in and out of affected areas
* Get tested ([link removed]) twice a week for free and isolate if you are positive
* Continue to work from home if you can
* Get vaccinated ([link removed]) when you are offered it, and encourage others to do so as well

Euro 2020
If you’re watching #Euro2020, just remember to observe hands, face, space, fresh air as much as you can when enjoying the footy. It's coming home!

Help make a difference this Clean Air Day
This national day Clean Air Day (Thursday 17 June) we hope you’ll help protect our children’s health by going car-free. You can make a difference by travelling on bike or by foot for shorter journeys.

We all enjoyed the fresher air and quieter streets last year and millions of people gave cycling and walking a go. It’s just four minutes by bike, or 10 minutes on foot to travel a kilometre! Whether it’s the school run, popping to the shops or going to see friends and family – every journey makes a difference.

As our children return to their lives after a difficult year, let’s make sure they go back to a healthy environment where they can learn and play safely.

You can join in by cycling or walking on the day and sharing your journey on social media using #GMCleanAirDay. Follow @CleanAirGM on Twitter and Facebook and visit cleanairgm.com ([link removed]) for tips to get you moving.
