Dear advocates and community members,
Last night, as the results rolled in, I was reminded of a quote by the late James Baldwin, "The world changes according to the way people see it, and if you can alter, even by a millimeter, the way people look at reality, then you can change the world."
Win or lose, our purpose continues to be heard loud and clear. The process of building a lasting movement is one consistently built through necessity. It is necessary to give voice to the voiceless, to protect voter rights, to fight for access to quality healthcare and education, and to fight for a just and equitable Commonwealth. The change we look to create is not made by winning an election, but by changing the narrative to one that includes all Virginians. Win or lose, our endorsees ran campaigns that changed the way people saw the world. They brought people together, and altered, even by a millimeter, the way our communities looked at reality. They changed hearts and minds with every event they hosted, every door they knocked, every call they made, and every text sent out. We are proud of each of our candidates who we know will continue to serve and honor the values of our community, elected or not.
Thank you to our volunteers, staff, and community members who, over the course of our get out the vote campaign, made over 100,000 calls, sent out 200,000 text messages, knocked on over 5,000 doors and collected over 25,000 pledges.

We congratulate all of our endorsees who ran their campaigns over the past few months, for that is a victory within itself. But, our work is not done. We are committed to continuing our hard work towards a more just and equitable Commonwealth. It is vital for us to secure these wins this November and to vote in order to change the trajectory of our nation. Your votes matter and we must vote for those who share our values.
