John,
On Tuesday night, Biden’s top climate advisor told Politico that the (already insufficient!) climate policies Biden promised to fight for might end up getting left out of his final infrastructure bill.
If that makes your blood boil, you’re not alone. Here’s what people are saying:
“Ambitious action on climate change is not negotiable.”
“An infrastructure package that goes light on climate and clean energy should not count on every Democratic vote.”
“No climate, no deal.” |
No, these aren’t quotes from Sunrisers. They’re tweets from U.S. senators. (Yes, really!)
When a bunch of Senators refuse to support a bill that wouldn’t do nearly enough to tackle the climate crisis, I’d call that good news. But now is not the time to let up. It’s time to double down and fight like hell for the Green New Deal and the Civilian Climate Corps that we need.
We’re bringing the heat to Biden to make it clear that our futures are not negotiable. Will you join Sunrisers from every corner of the country for our mass mobilization in D.C. on June 28? Learn more and RSVP now:

Extreme weather, floods, wildfires, droughts — they don’t care about the filibuster. They don’t care whether Republicans vote for the bill, or about the present mood of a certain Senator from West Virginia.
Biden has an obligation to fight for what we NEED, not what the old guard in Washington deems politically feasible enough to pass the Senate.
We can’t give up now. Join us in D.C. on June 28 to tell Biden: No Climate, No Deal.
In solidarity,
Ellen, Sunrise
