State legislatures are beginning the process of redrawing congressional districts, and the GOP-controlled supermajority here in Kansas are being anything but quiet about their partisan plans. Former KS Senate President Susan Wagle said it loud and clear: “I guarantee you we can draw four Republican congressional maps.”
I believe in fair representation, and that starts with fairly drawn congressional districts in Kansas and all across the country, not partisan gerrymandered ones.
Last week, I went onto MSNBC to discuss Republicans’ plans to draw me out of Congress, and I made it clear that I believe voters should be choosing their elected officials — not the other way around.
With threats to fair elections popping up across the country, we have to ensure partisan control over redistricting is eliminated nationwide.
