Can you believe this, John? House Republicans are downplaying the January 6 insurrection against the United States Government! ➞ First Andrew Clyde of Georgia called it a "normal tourist visit" (clearly a lie: there are photos from that day of him helping to barricade the doors of the House gallery). ➞ Now Louie Gohmert of Louisiana has echoed that line -- at a QAnon conference! ➞ Not to mention that more than 8 in 10 House Republicans voted AGAINST a bipartisan commission to investigate the insurrection. (Wonder what they're afraid of!)
Here's the bottom line: Republicans are getting even more extreme than they were before January 6, continuing to spread Trump's Big Lie and cozying up to violent conspiracy theorists. We CANNOT let these people take control of the House -- but if we don't hit our finance goals, that's exactly what could happen. -- Team HMP |
