Friend,
Working people are organizing for change like never before and AFSCME is leading the charge.
Show your strength by pledging to stay AFSCME Strong.
Check out these recent victories:
-
In California, 40,000 family child care providers just won a historic victory. A bill was passed that gives them the right join together and negotiate for the resources they need to provide quality early childhood education.
-
Members at Oregon Health & Science University stood up for themselves and patients to stop a paid time off proposal that would have forced workers to come to work sick. Fifteen hundred workers mobilized to send a clear message to management and won a great contract that did not include the paid time off proposal.
-
Six hundred human services workers in Adams County, Colorado, voted overwhelmingly to form their AFSCME union to protect themselves and improve county services.
-
A judge in Alaska just issued a temporary restraining order blocking the ruthless anti-worker governor from stealing our voice, undermining our freedom and making it harder for public service workers to join a union.
-
You may already know about the incredible victory in Nevada, with a new law establishing collective bargaining rights for 20,000 state employees. But what you may not know is that Nevada state workers have come roaring out of the gates to enjoy those rights, with corrections officers and mental health workers filing for recognition.
You’re such a critical part of our growing momentum. Recommit to your AFSCME sisters and brothers today by signing the AFSCME Strong pledge!
Thank you for all you do, and let’s keep it going.
In solidarity,
Lee Saunders
