The 2022 election cycle is already heating up. As of this week, four Texas statewide officials have either resigned or have drawn primary challengers. Land Commissioner George P. Bush and Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman have each resigned to seek higher office, leaving an open seat to fill. Governor Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton will face challengers from their own party.
