Tuesday, Vice President Harris provided flippant answers about her response to
the border crisis and faced major backlash after an interview with NBC's Lester
Holt. 

After Holt stated that she hadn’t been to the border, Harris responded:

“And I haven’t been to Europe,” she said, laughing. “I don’t understand the
point that you’re making.”

Wednesday, Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (WV) met with President Biden in the Oval
Office for more negotiations surrounding infrastructure. Unfortunately, the two
weren’t able to strike a deal.

Thursday, Rep. Stephanie Bice (OK-05) provided April's apprehension numbers
showing that more than 170,000 new migrants have attempted to cross the
southwest border.

Axios: Consumer prices rose 5% from last May, as pace of inflation ticks up.

 Consumer prices rose last month by 5% compared to May of 2020, marking the
biggest year-over-year gain since August 2008, according to Consumer Price Index

Prices were 0.6% higher in May than they were in April.

 CBP said that 180,034 migrants were encountered along the border, an increase
over the 178,000 encountered in April and 173,000 were encountered in March –
all representing the highest numbers in years. March saw a big increase from
the 100,000 migrants encountered in February.
