John,
We’ve been saying it for months: we need to know that whoever we elect President in 2020 is gonna fight for a Green New Deal, and make it a top priority from their first day in office. The only question is: who can we count on?
To figure it out, we’ve spent the last two months working on a scorecard to evaluate the top Democratic Primary candidates, taking into account all the nitty gritty details of their policy, as well as their commitment to and strategy for winning a Green New Deal.
The scorecard is out! Check it out now to see how we’ll be scoring the candidates to determine who can make the best Green New Deal champion.
The scores aren’t filled in yet--now that we’ve made the framework for evaluating the candidates, we’ll spend the next few weeks poring over their policy proposals and watching how they talk about the climate crisis and the Green New Deal in public.
We’ll be taking notes on a number of factors. Having a bold Green New Deal vision is extremely important, but also critical are: a commitment to making the Green New Deal priority number one, campaigning on it aggressively and making the case for it to the American people, and having a solid political strategy to make the Green New Deal a reality.
As things play out, we’ll release our scores on a rolling basis, sending you updates along the way so you can keep track of which candidates are best prepared to fight for our future.
Once the scores are all in, we’ll share them far and wide so that voters everywhere can see which candidates are truly committed to stopping the climate crisis and building a future in which we can all thrive.

P.S. Chip in to help us get this scorecard into the hands of tens of thousands of people so the public can see which candidates are truly ready to fight for our future.
