The American Petroleum Institute is the worst . They’re the main lobbying group for the oil and gas industry. They spend millions every year to maintain the status quo, buy political influence, and push pro-polluter policies that harm our communities.
API fights against everything we stand for — and they do it with a lot of money and influence behind them. We can’t stress enough that these are the bad guys of all bad guys.
Anyway, I’ll get to the point: Yesterday, Biden’s top climate advisor Gina McCarthy met with API lobbyists.
We’ve had enough. Biden’s administration needs to meet with US. So we’re heading to Washington, D.C. on June 28 to bring our demands right to his doorstep. Will you join us, John? [[link removed]]

In 2020, we did what needed to be done: We pushed Biden to the left, then we organized to elect him on a climate mandate. So he shouldn’t be surprised that we expect him to keep his end of the deal.
This is the final straw. Negotiating with the white supremacist GOP was bad enough — and now, Biden is sidelining us and cozying up to polluters.
