Imagine you're Senator Manchin, John: You're threatening to use your deciding vote in the Senate to throw away our best shot at saving democracy. You think the 71% of voters in your state who support the For the People Act might not notice.
But then on your next trip home to West Virginia, you're greeted by dozens of towering billboards that call you out.
Senator Manchin needs to see that everyone in his state is demanding he change his position and pass the Act. Will you donate $25 before MIDNIGHT on Saturday to help us reach our $15,000 goal and fund these billboards? Every dollar you give will be matched by a generous RepresentUs donor until we hit our goal.
Senator Manchin’s actions are irresponsible and short-sighted. He is prioritizing political posturing over saving our dying democracy.
We’d hoped that the Senator would recall his past support for voting rights, his previous opposition to dark money, and even his co-sponsorship of this bill back in 2019. Unfortunately, he’s taken a different path: Choosing to empower Mitch McConnell’s obstruction rather than restoring our functioning Republic.
Senator Manchin hasn't voted yet, and he has a choice to make. He can be remembered for hammering the final nail in the coffin of our democracy. Or he can take a stand, listen to the overwhelming majority of West Virginians, and pass the For the People Act before it’s too late.
These billboards will be an inescapable reminder to Manchin that he should do his job and represent his constituents, who overwhelmingly support the For the People Act – and they could be the thing that gets Senator Manchin to change his mind.
But we can only send that message if we raise $15,000 before MIDNIGHT on Saturday, June 12. Will you rush us $25 right now to help send Senator Manchin a message that he can’t possibly ignore? Every dollar you give will be matched until we hit our goal, DOUBLING your impact.
Let’s do this,
