I'm proud of the Democratic Party's commitment to supporting families.

For too long, the cost of raising a family has been climbing while wages remain stagnant. This, combined with unaffordable child care, massive student debt, and insane housing costs -- have made starting a family nearly impossible for many young adults.

Recognizing these difficulties, Democrats have responded by passing the most pro-family policy agenda in modern American history, including:

$300/per child monthly payments to families with children under 6 and $250/per child monthly payments to families with children aged 6-17. Payments begin July 15th.

A $39 billion investment in creating more affordable childcare options for working parents

A Purple Star Campuses program to support military families' unique educational needs

These programs alone will cut childhood poverty in half, allow parents to spend more time with their children, and energize our economy through increased consumer spending.

We aren't done, though! Right now, Democrats are working to pass paid maternity leave, universal childcare, and improvement to the Head Start Program.
