It’s been a rough year, but things are looking up.

Here’s something you may not be aware of:

Public Citizen’s annual gala is coming up in just two weeks — on Thursday, June 24, at 7:00 p.m. (EDT).

What do they have to do with each other?

• For one thing, our gala — which will once again be an online event that is free to join — is a blast. We’ll have great comedians and awesome musicians. Exactly the kind of energy you want to start feeling more upbeat.

• For another, we’re going to celebrate our progress and signal the work ahead. We’ve made some amazing strides in this last year despite the challenges we’ve all had to grapple with, and of course there’s more work to do.

• And for another, we’re going to honor Rep. Jamie Raskin — who led the impeachment prosecution against Donald Trump — with our “Golden Boot Award” (for kicking you-know-what).

Like last year, this fantastic “virtual” event will feature wonderful comedians, singers, and celebrity surprise guests, including: Lake Street Dive, Baratunde Thurston, Lucinda Gayle Williams, Alex Edelman, Negin Farsad, Graham Nash (of Crosby, Stills & Nash), and more.
