THE WEEK'S BIG 3
Antisemitic incidents more than doubled in May compared to last year following Mideast violence, according to new data from ADL. Online antisemitism grew significantly during the pandemic, with COVID-19 ushering in “a new wave of antisemitic conspiracy theories and hate in Europe,” the European Commission said in a report issued last week. Four members of the same family were killed in a pickup truck attack in London, Ontario in what authorities are calling a hate crime targeting Muslims.

Antisemitic Incidents More Than Doubled in May Compared to Last Year Following Mideast Violence, ADL Reports
“Police in Arizona are investigating after a spray-painted swastika and an anti-Semitic slur were found on the door of a Tucson synagogue… The graffiti comes amid a recent string of attacks on Jewish people in the US as tensions flared over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that saw hundreds killed over 11 days, most of them Palestinian, in violence between Israel and Hamas militants.” CNN:

Canada Truck Attack Targets Muslim Family, Killing Four
“A pickup truck attack that killed four members of an immigrant family has shaken Canada, a country where immigrants are largely accepted, and drew denunciations Tuesday from Canada’s prime minister, who called it a hate crime directed at Muslims. The victims — two parents, two children and a grandmother — were on an evening walk when the driver of the truck struck them at an intersection in London, Ontario. The sole survivor was a 9-year-old boy, who was hospitalized.” Associated Press:
