Hello,

It might not seem like the most exciting topic to discuss right now, but the truth is: shoring up our nation's cybersecurity needs to be a priority for all of us.

Remember a few weeks ago when hackers targeted a pipeline, shutting off access to fuel for many people in our country? In recent weeks, we've also seen attacks on our food supply, our utilities, and even our hospitals.

These events were just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to cyber threats against our nation. Cyber attacks can hurt our emergency response services, election systems, electrical grid, and much more.

I helped introduce legislation last month to address this security threat. My bill, the State and Local Cybersecurity Improvement Act, would provide increased funding for state, local, and tribal governments to counter threats and empower the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to support these local efforts.

Cybersecurity isn't a partisan issue, it's a national security issue. I'm working with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to get this bill passed.

Will you join us in the fight to protect our country against cybersecurity threats? Add your name today to help advance this critical national security issue.
