People For Member,
We just hosted a rally on Capitol Hill -- including roughly a dozen of our allies in Congress like Sens. Raphael Warnock and Elizabeth Warren -- and delivered more than 330K signatures to the Senate calling for passage of the For the People Act.
We expect a vote in the Senate in just two weeks and, between now and then, we’re marshalling a massive groundswell of grassroots activity to ramp up pressure on both senators AND the White House.
The freedom to vote is under attack like it has not been since the rise of Jim Crow. Our moment to defend the vote is right now. The cost of inaction by our leaders in Washington could be our democracy itself. We CAN win this fight.
But it’s going to take serious movement organizing. So we’re organizing activists and People For network members in Senate target states … mobilizing and supporting Black church leaders from key states (including those like Georgia that are on the front lines of the Far Right’s attacks on voting) … running ads, and more.
People For members are stepping up big time, but we still need to raise another $23,035 in just the next 48 hours to keep it all going.
We’re demanding that every leader who’s with us use every tool at their disposal, every bit of influence and leverage they have, to knock down the Senate filibuster and PASS the For the People Act.
And we’re going to move those Democrats who are standing in the way of ending the filibuster and saving our democracy by making it undeniably clear to them and their constituents that Americans of all political stripes overwhelmingly support the For the People Act…
…That Americans embrace the reforms it contains that would stop the partisan power grabs, the racist voter suppression, the Big Money takeover of our elections, and the other subversions of our democracy being pushed by far-right legislators across the country, fueled by Trump’s Big Lie about the 2020 election…
…That the stubborn partisan extremism of Republicans in Congress is NOT a legitimate reason to block a bill that has popular bipartisan support among the People…
Are you with us? Your support and your actions have gotten us this far and have given us tremendous momentum. Now it’s crunch time.
The only way we win is if we all do our part, so I’m calling on you to stand with us to defend the vote and pass the historic reforms needed to save American democracy.
