Friend,

Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans cynically filibustered the Paycheck Fairness Act to escape accountability and avoid a vote that would show the American people where they really stand.

In 2020, women earned just 84% of what men earned for the same work — that gap is even worse for women of color. That’s not only wrong, it also hurts our economy and worsens skyrocketing inequality.

It’s not just the pay gap, either. Women have been shut out of the post-pandemic economic recovery, and have been left behind men in reaching pre-pandemic employment levels.

Women are disproportionately represented in low-wage, retail, and service industries that have been the hardest hit. I’ve devoted so much of my focus to raising wages across the board and closing the gender wage gap, but I can’t do it alone.

We all have a duty to end all workplace discrimination, including on the basis of gender. That’s why now more than ever, I need your support to get the Paycheck Fairness Act passed.

Add your name as a citizen cosponsor of the Paycheck Fairness Act and demand the Senate pass this landmark legislation. It can’t wait. [[link removed]]

We have only begun to scratch the surface of what’s possible with our Democratic majorities — but I need you to keep pushing. Thanks for raising your voice today.
