John, tens of thousands of people have already signed on to tell Joe Manchin bipartisanship means voters from both parties agree, not DC politicians -- and to pass the For The People Act.

Can you join them? SIGN THE PETITION to Joe Manchin here. -- The PCCC Team

EARLIER EMAIL:

In an op-ed Sunday, Sen. Joe Manchin wrote that he wouldn't support the For The People Act to protect voting rights and democracy because the bill isn't bipartisan.

The thing is, it is bipartisan. Two thirds of voters across the country support it. In his own West Virginia, 81% of Democratic and 79% of Republican voters want the For The People Act.

We know this bipartisanship argument can work. It is the exact same thing President Biden said before Manchin reversed himself on the American Rescue Plan and agreed with Dems going it alone.

SIGN THE PETITION: Join the thousands telling Sen. Joe Manchin to pass the For The People Act because bipartisanship means voters from both parties agree -- not DC politicians. We'll keep Manchin's office updated as tens of thousands of people sign on.

Everyone knows that there are not 10 Republican senators who will support voting rights or fighting big money. That's how many would be needed to break a Republican filibuster.

That's why tons of people -- from blue-collar West Virginia mineworkers to civil right leaders -- are telling Manchin NOPE! We insist you pass the For the People Act. Take a look below and join them here.Progressive Change Campaign Committee: Protecting democracy has bipartisan support among the people, even if Senate Republican politicians are hellbent on destroying democracy

End Citizens United: The #ForThePeopleAct (#HR1/#S1) has broad bipartisan support in West Virginia and across the country

Common Defense: The #ForThePeopleAct is supported by 2/3 of voters, majorities of both Democrats & Republicans. Veterans like us swore to defend the Constitution, and we can’t stand by while our beloved democracy is under attack.

Common Cause: The #ForThePeopleAct is already bipartisan. More than 75% of Republican voters support the For the People Act, and many key components of it have already passed in red, blue, and purple states with strong bipartisan support.

Sen. Jeff Merkley: The #ForThePeople Act is hugely popular among Democrats, Republicans, and independents all across the country.

Rep. Jamal Bowman: “The For The People Act is broadly popular — across party lines. 2/3 of all voters, including 55% of Republicans, support it.

Former HUD Sec. Julian Castro: The For The People Act is Supported by two-thirds of Americans. It has tons of Bipartisan support.

DFAD Coalition: Despite the intransigence of Senate Republicans, the #ForThePeopleAct (H.R. 1/S. 1) has overwhelming bipartisan support in West Virginia and across the country, including overwhelming majorities amongst Democrats, Independents, and Republicans.

Indivisible: The For the People Act has bipartisan support of voters in West Virginia. Pass it on.

Rep. Mark Pocan: “Over 50% of voters across the political spectrum support both the PRO Act & the For the People Act. Imagine that, worker’s rights & voting rights are actually bipartisan.”

Leah Greenberg, Indivisible Executive Director: The FTPA has bipartisan support among Americans, including in West Virginia. There's no voter anywhere who cares more about process than about outcomes.

Campaign Legal Center: The #ForthePeopleAct's reforms have broad bipartisan support among voters—in WV and around the country.

Brennan Center: The reforms in #HR1 *are* bipartisan outside the halls of Congress. The polling shows bipartisan majorities support each reform (and it's even popular in WV). More importantly, almost every one has passed with bipartisan support in multiple states over the years.

SIGN THE PETITION: Tell Sen. Joe Manchin the For The People Act IS bipartisan, with 2/3 of voters supporting it, including a majority of Republican voters.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
