I have some disappointing news to share this morning. It was just announced that the Keystone XL Pipeline has been fully canceled as a result of Joe Biden's Day 1 decision to rescind their permit.
The impact of this loss is dramatic. Thousands of jobs have been lost. Millions of dollars in revenue for America's communities and states are gone. America's energy security has been weakened. This is a sad day for our country.
What I find even more infuriating about this situation is that while Joe Biden abruptly ended construction of an American pipeline, he green lighted one in Russia, lifting sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. Clearly, this is not about principles. It's about politics - and more specifically, bending to the politics of the radical left.
I know this is disappointing news for a lot of us conservatives, but I assure you: I will keep fighting for American energy independence and the American worker. We must not give up. We must continue to push forward and fight for what we know is right.
