Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the White House because of all of us, John. It was women — especially women of color — who worked tirelessly to defeat Trump and turn the tides of our country. Far too many of us are the survivors of sexual assault, which is why we demand to know:
Why is Biden's Department of Justice continuing to defend Trump instead of standing up for survivors?!
During his presidential campaign, Biden rightfully called out Trump for using the Justice Department as his personal attorney. Trump called on the DOJ to defend him personally from a defamation lawsuit filed by a woman who accused him of assaulting her and then making crude and disparaging remarks about her while in office.
Now, under the Biden administration, the new leadership of the Justice Department has maintained the same legal position, stating that Trump cannot be sued for remarks he made as president. The defamation lawsuit is now at risk of being dismissed — and we cannot let that happen, John.
You can take action right now to demand that the Department of Justice stop defending Trump in two ways:
No one, much less the president of the United States, should be able to use their position of power to slander a survivor of sexual assault.
The Justice Department should not let this precedent stand, and we must make our voices heard urgently to tell them to reverse course before the suit is dismissed.
Thank you for taking action to mobilize in support of our rights and our values,
Women's March
