Friend, we need your help.

During last Sunday’s Andrew Marr Show, Health Secretary Matt Hancock denied claims that he had spoken about throwing a “protective ring” around care homes at the early stages of the Covid-19 crisis.

Mr. Hancock claimed he didn’t use the phrase until later planning for winter.

But we found three recorded instances of the minister using that exact phrase in May last year, to describe action taken during the first wave of the pandemic.

This isn't good enough—especially in the midst of a health crisis. Can you make sure our politicians don’t get away with it?

Yes, I’ll give £9 a month
Yes, I’ll give £7.56* a month
Yes, I'll give another amount

We all deserve better than this. That’s why we need your support today.

We’re building up a community of people who believe that politicians making serious claims in public should be held accountable for what they say.

Each donation supports our next fact check, ramping up the pressure on those who make false claims in public. And the more people standing behind us, the less they can get away with it.

Friend, we’re going to need you. Mr Hancock is speaking in front of a parliamentary committee this morning. We’ll be keeping a close eye on what is said from all sides.

Your support will help to ensure that as the pandemic rumbles on, people get the accurate, impartial information they need.

If you are able to, can you support the facts today?

Yes, I'll help call out false claims
We're so grateful to have you standing with us.
