Just a few moments ago, Congresswoman Demings wrapped up an appearance on The ReidOut with Joy Reid where she talked about why she's launching her Senate campaign.

The modern-day Republican Party has traded in leadership for fealty to Donald J. Trump – and that isn't working for everyday Floridians.

Just look at Marco Rubio: He could have stood up for our democracy by voting to allow the independent and nonpartisan Jan. 6 Commission to investigate the deadly riot at the Capitol. Instead, he voted no. He could have voted to deliver the American people and our small businesses pandemic relief by passing a stimulus package. Instead, he voted no. There's too much at stake for our country, our friends and our neighbors to sit on the sidelines, which is why Congresswoman Demings is running for Senate. 

Rubio's inaction is a sober reminder that our Democratic majorities in Congress are the only pathway for progress – the only pathway for strong, compassionate leadership. And protecting that pathway for progress hinges on defeating Marco Rubio and flipping Florida blue. But we need a strong showing to make that happen, and we're falling $6,223 short of what we need to raise by midnight tonight to meet our Launch Day goal.
