It’s Pride Month, and I’m proud to report that yesterday I introduced a measure in the Senate that would officially recognize June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month.

Pride Month is a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, honor the work of the brave activists who’ve pushed our country forward, and recommit ourselves to the work we still must do to achieve full equality for ALL Americans.

Later this month on June 26th, we’ll celebrate six years since the Supreme Court issued its historic decision in Obergefell v. Hodges , making marriage equality the law of the land -- and it would not have been possible if it weren't for Ohio’s own Jim Obergefell.

But the fact is, in many states, including Ohio, LGBTQ+ Americans still don’t have full equality under the law. That means they can be evicted from their homes or fired from their jobs just because of who they are or who they love.

The Equality Act would fix that by establishing federal nondiscrimination protections for the LGBTQ community.

In honor of Pride Month and the sixth anniversary of Obergefell v. Hodges , we want to gather 26,000 signatures in support of equality for all. We all have a role to play in this fight. Please -- add your name today and join our fight for equality. [[link removed]]
